Shooter Mods Across Five Games: What Transfers, What Doesn't

Shooter Mods10 min readYewMods Desk

Legends, Siege, Rust, FPS, and Blueprint — how YewScripts adapts recoil, aim feel, and movement mods per game instead of reskinning one script five times.

Same genre, different games

On paper, every shooter script does similar things: manage recoil, steady aim, smooth movement. In practice the games underneath disagree about everything. Siege is a precision game where a half-degree of drift loses a gunfight and every operator's weapon recoils differently. Apex is a movement game where aim help has to coexist with slides, mantles, and constant strafing. Rust's recoil patterns are their own subculture. Arc Raiders adds a newer extraction meta that's still shifting patch to patch.

That's why the catalog splits into Legends, Siege, Rust, Blueprint, and the general-purpose FPS package instead of one "shooter script." Per-game products mean per-game decisions: which weapons get individual profiles, which mods a game's meta actually needs, and which features would hurt more than help.

The reskin test

Leak bundles and low-effort sellers usually fail one simple test: read the mod list for their "Apex" script next to their "Siege" script. If the lists are identical, nobody built anything per game — they renamed a file. Maintained per-game products show their work in the differences: Siege builds emphasize per-operator recoil control, Apex builds emphasize aim feel under movement, Rust builds track its community-famous spray patterns.

Where the general FPS package fits

FPS is the deliberate exception — a cross-game package for shooters the catalog doesn't cover individually. Its design honestly embraces being general: broader defaults, fewer game-specific assumptions. The difference between FPS-by-design and reskin-by-laziness is that one tells you what it is.

Frequently asked questions

Which shooter product should I start with?

The one matching your main game — per-game products beat general ones where both exist. Product pages live on yew.gg.

Do these products share code?

YewMods doesn't document implementation. What's visible at the product level is that mod lists, defaults, and update notes differ per game — which is the part that matters to a buyer.
